As a father, husband and Marine I am unhappy about the direction this country has taken in recent years. We can and must do better.
During my time in the Marine Corps, I learned to place a premium on leadership. Every officer goes to The Basic School in Quantico, VA, which is considered one of the premier leadership schools in the world. It was from this cultural upbringing and professional development that my views of leadership were formed.
I’ve seen bad leadership, and I’ve experienced what truly good leadership can do for an individual, group, and an entire organization. Increasingly in government I am seeing a vacuum of leadership being filled with extremist policies that don’t serve the public interest.
I am running for Congress so I can use my leadership skills to bring people together and solve the problems facing our nation and our state.
We can make health care more affordable by allowing everyone to use Medicare, creating competition with private insurance to bring down costs.
We must keep our commitments to fighting climate change and protect the Chesapeake by standing up to the reckless budget cuts proposed by the Trump Administration.
We must invest in bringing high speed Internet to rural communities so that everyone in our district has the same access to economic and educational opportunities.
We must support American small businesses and workers to improve our economy and create good jobs with higher pay.
We must stand by our veterans and ensure that everyone who serves our country receives the benefits they were promised.
I am running for Congress to address these issues and many more. I ask for your support and your vote so we can build a brighter future that is more prosperous and secure for all of us.
